GoPro announced its newest flagship action camera, the HERO9 Black, which brings a number of significant improvements over its predecessor.

Apart from the new design that now offers a color front display, other enhancements include a better resolution for photos and videos, better video stabilization, and a bigger battery.

Camera Quality

GoPro enhances the image quality that HERO9 Black can capture. It can now take photos with a resolution of up to 20 MP. The camera can now also shoot 5K video at 30 fps, a first on a GoPro action camera.

Apart from that, it can also record 4K video at 60 fps, 2.7K video at 120 fps, 1140p video at 120 fps, and 1080p video at 240 fps. HERO9 Black also features HyperSmooth 3.0 image stabilization with a camera that supports horizon alignment.

 

Features

Another improvement lies on the screen. HERO9 Black now offers a front screen with a color panel that can be used to review the shot. The rear screen of the camera is also bigger, with a 2.27-inch touchscreen, beating the 1.95-inch screen its predecessor offered.

GoPro also provides HERO9 Black with a 1,720 mAh battery, has a 40 percent larger capacity and promises longer endurance than that used in its predecessor.

One of the excellent features that HERO9 Black offers is TimeWarp 3.0, which allows users to adjust the speed of the video being recorded. Other features include 1080p Live Streaming, 1080p Webcam Mode, HindSight, LiveBurst, Scheduled Capture, Duration Capture Modes, RAW Photos, SuperPhoto, and HDR Night.

HERO9 Black is available today for the US market at a price of US $ 449.99. Customers can also buy the action camera for $ 349.98 if they agree to subscribe to GoPro Plus for one year.
