Porsche has unveiled its most powerful Cayenne model to date: the Turbo E-Hybrid. Available in both SUV and Coupe body styles, this new model boasts an impressive 729 horsepower and offers unparalleled performance without compromising on everyday usability.
Turbo E-Hybrid Replaces Previous Turbo Variant
The Turbo E-Hybrid model replaces the previous Turbo variant and is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain. Porsche has significantly improved the hybrid technology in the new Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, enhancing both its electric range and power. The vehicle features a four-liter V8 twin-turbo engine that produces 591 horsepower, supported by an electric motor generating an additional 174 horsepower. The combined system output is a staggering 729 horsepower and 700 lb-ft of torque.
Performance Metrics
The Turbo E-Hybrid can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and has a top track speed of 183 mph. These figures underscore the Cayenne’s ambition to be the sports car among SUVs.
New Hybrid Technology
The new Cayenne E-Hybrid models feature a significantly larger high-voltage battery of 25.9 kWh, mounted underneath the trunk area. The new 11-kW on-board charger can reduce the charging time to less than 2.5 hours using a suitable wallbox or charger.
Advanced Air Suspension System
The new Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid models come standard with an adaptive air suspension system featuring new two-chamber, two-valve technology. This allows for separate adjustability of both compression and rebound settings, improving comfort and handling.
Distinctive Styling Cues
Both the SUV and Coupe body styles feature a Turbo-specific front fascia with larger air intakes and air blades in high-gloss black. Other model-specific accents include dual exhaust tailpipes made of brushed aluminum and red brake calipers.
Interior Features
Inside the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid, aluminum trim on the dash and doors, as well as a roof liner in Race-Tex, create a sporty ambiance. Standard equipment includes a heated GT Sport steering wheel and 18-way adjustable leather Sport seats.
Availability and Pricing
The Turbo E-Hybrid models can be ordered now and are expected to reach U.S. dealers in Q2, 2024. The Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid has an MSRP of $146,900, while the Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid Coupe has an MSRP of $151,400.
