MG Unveils Thrilling MG4 Electric XPOWER: The Most Powerful Production MG Ever

MG Motor has officially announced the pricing and specifications of its new high-performance all-electric hatchback, the MG4 Electric XPOWER, set to debut this July at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The MG4 Electric XPOWER is the most powerful production car ever made by MG, featuring a dual motor powertrain delivering 320 kW and up to 600 Nm of torque. This places the latest MG4 model alongside the most potent high-performance hatchbacks on the market.

Performance and Design

Capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 3.8 seconds, the XPOWER’s performance is complemented by understated exterior design revisions. These include orange ‘XPOWER’ brake calipers, a two-tone black roof, new 18” alloy wheels, polished trim accents, and an exclusive new Hunter Green color option.

“We’re confident the MG4 XPOWER will shake-up the market like the MG4 SE and Trophy, showing that a compact EV can be affordable, practical, and a terrific drive,” said Aiden He, CEO of MG Nordic and Benelux.

Technology and Features

The MG4 Electric XPOWER is underpinned by the MG4’s Modular Scalable Platform (MSP) and is equipped with an all-new dual motor configuration. It features an all-new Dynamic Cornering Control System, allowing torque vectoring between all four wheels, generating maximum traction and outstanding composure in various driving conditions.

Suspension upgrades, stiffer anti-roll bars, sharper steering, and increased overall suspension stiffness by up to 25% ensure that the MG4 Electric XPOWER builds upon the acclaimed handling characteristics of the current MG4 models.

MG EX4 Concept

In addition to the MG4 Electric XPOWER, MG Motor will also debut a third high-performance MG during the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The MG EX4 concept car boldly reimagines the Metro 6R4 rally legend of the 1980s, underpinned by the MG4 XPOWER’s electric drivetrain.

Availability

The MG4 Electric XPOWER is available to order from summer 2023 and promises to be one of the most exciting new electric cars of the year, marking a new milestone in MG’s highly anticipated return to the performance car market.
