Meet Volvo XC40 Recharge, the company’s first-ever fully electric car from Volvo Cars. It is the first model to appear in its brand new Recharge car line concept that based on the multi-award-winning and best-selling XC40 small SUV. This vehicle also has a brand new infotainment system powered by Google’s Android operating system.
Volvo Cars will launch a fully electric car over the next five years. For all chargeable Volvos, Recharge will be the overarching name with a fully electric and plug-in hybrid powertrain. In 2020, the customers will be asked first whether they want a Volvo Recharge car or not when they entering the Volvo Cars website.
Every model of the Volvo Recharge plug-in hybrid will come with free electricity for a year which is provided through a refund for the average electricity cost during the period. Volvo XC40 Recharge offers a state-of-the-art addition, a fully electric all-wheel-drive powertrain with a range over 400 km only on a single charge.
From the capacity, the battery charges to 80 % in 40 mins on a fast-charger system. Volvo XC40 Recharge provides an Android-powered infotainment system that is integrated fully with Volvo On Call, a platform of the company’s digital connected services that allows the drivers to track their spending time while driving on electric power.
